Wire Brushed Panels

Wire brushing wood veneer panels adds character, texture and authenticity to your project. Wire brushed finishes are produced with a rotary steel wire brush that goes over the surface of the wood. This process removes grains and leaves the upper surface with a weathered and textured finish. The depth of the texture can vary from light to heavy. Light meaning a small amount of texture and heavy meaning deeper texture that will be more obvious. After brushing, the wood can be stained or clear coated depending on the desired final color. A glaze can be wiped into the deep textures to give the wood a two tone finish that highlights the textured grain. Wire brushing is frequently done to oak, but other species can benefit as well. APPI can wire brush both long grain and short grain type panels. Wire brushed hardwood lumber is also available.
